Attendance Types are the individual attendance codes that you see on the Daily Attendance and Class Attendance Pages. Depending on your sync type, your Attendance Types are created either in your SIS or in Schoolrunner. Once Attendance Types are created, you can manage them in Schoolrunner by navigating to Setup > Configure > Attendance Types.
From here, you can use the Add Attendance Type button to create new attendance codes or manage an individual Attendance Type using the gear icons.
The Edit Attendance Type page allows you to edit all the parameters attached to an individual Attendance Type. See below for an explanation of each parameter.
Parameter | Explanation |
Name | The long name of the attendance type |
Code | The short name of the attendance type |
SIS ID | The ID that correlates to your SIS attendance type |
Active | Takes the attendance type out of use in Schoolrunner |
In School | Indicates a student is present in school |
Show in Class Attendance | Available to teachers when taking class attendance |
Default Class Attendance From Daily Attendance |
Should any absence codes recorded for Daily Attendance follow students throughout the day for class attendance? If "Yes", this can still be overridden by a class teacher |
Red Flag If In School | If a student has this attendance type but shows up in school (e.g. OSS), flag a warning for the teacher |
All Schools | Makes this attendance type available to all schools in your district |
Hidden | Hide this attendance type from dropdowns so it cannot be applied to any student records |
