For any given section, you can add, edit, or deactivate student enrollments in bulk. Look in the "Add Students" section of the screen and click "Download template".
The .csv file you download will list students who are already in this section. Don't modify any column headers or the import may not work (including "Schoolrunner Student Enrollment Import v1" in cell A1).
Here's an overview of the columns. Note that three fields are marked Option in the "Required" column. This means that Schoolrunner requires one (but not all) of these fields to have data in it.
Column Header | Required | Format | Notes |
Student ID | Option | Integer | Our first choice. If data is present here, "SIS Student Number" and "Student Name" are unnecessary and ignored. |
SR Student Number | No | String | |
SIS Student Number | Option | String | Our second choice. Only used if "Student ID" is empty. If data is present here, "Student Name" is unnecessary and ignored. |
State ID | No | String | |
Internal Enrollment ID | No | Integer | Leave blank for new records. DON'T MODIFY if present. |
Student Name | Option | String | Our third choice. Only used if "Student ID" and "SIS Student Number" are empty. |
Start Date | No | Date | YYYY-MM-DD format. |
End Date | No | Date | YYYY-MM-DD format. |
Active | No | Boolean |
Will default to 1 (active) if left blank. |
Grade Level | No | Integer | |
School | No | Integer |
When you're finished working in the spreadsheet, be sure to save it as a .csv and then drop it back into Schoolrunner in the same section from which you downloaded the template.
Pay attention to any errors that are displayed. An error will prevent all changes in your file from being processed. Address any issues mentioned by the errors in your spreadsheet, save, and re-upload. Contact Schoolrunner support with any issues you can't resolve yourself.
