How do I control access to grades, Gradebooks, and assessments?

Schoolrunner's "Edit All Grades" permission determines whether someone's access is limited to the courses that s/he teaches or whether s/he is able to add or change grades for any course.

The "Edit All Grades" permission is best reserved for an admin or school leadership user group.

Note that, regardless of permissions, everyone can view any assessment, course, or Gradebook. But only those who teach a course (or have the "Edit All Grades" permission) can edit or add assessments, courses, or Gradebooks.

Schoolrunner determines who teaches a course according to whose name is listed on a section as the teacher or record, according to how you've set up your SIS or Clever data. Note that Schoolrunner only supports one teacher of record per section. Even if you are able to add co-teachers to sections in your SIS, that information is not brought into Schoolrunner.

If someone does not teach any courses and does not have the "Edit All Grades" permission, that person will not be able to make any academic changes to any courses or grades at all.

It's not possible to grant someone to access to some courses but not others without making them a teacher or record on those courses.
