You can use the Daily Attendance page to bulk deactivate records for any given date. This can save a lot of time if many students had attendance logged for them on a non-school day, if a scheduled task logged attendance that it shouldn't have, or if you've made changes to your attendance policy that you want to reflect in Schoolrunner.
You'll need to use the following fields on the Daily Attendance page:
- Student/Group – Select the group that represents all the kids who need to have attendance deactivated. This group needs to already exist before you move forward with bulk deactivation.
- Absence Type – Choose any attendance code here. Since you'll be deactivating everything, it doesn't matter what code you choose, but you must choose something.
- Absence Date – Choose the date for which you want to deactivate records. You can't bulk deactivate attendance for multiple days all at once; you need to do one day at a time.
- Active – Select "No"
- Comments – This is optional, but you could leave a note here that explains why the bulk deactivation has happened.
When you click the save button, daily attendance records will be deactivated for the students in the group you chose for the date you selected. This makes it like they never received a record in the first place.
It's not possible to bulk deactivate class attendance in this manner. Please contact Schoolrunner support if you need to bulk deactivate class attendance records.
