To bulk update daily attendance records, start on the Groups page (found via the "Analysis" menu).
On the Groups page, the important thing is to create a group that represents the students who need attendance to be updated. For example, you may want to update students who were given attendance type X so that they instead have attendance type Y.
Create a dynamic group by filtering for students with attendance type X. Depending on where the code was given, this may use either the "Daily Attendance Filters" or the "Class Attendance Filters".
Save the group and make sure that it is starred. This gives you access to the group throughout the site. Then, on the Daily Attendance page,
- load the group you just saved,
- select the attendance type you want the kids to have (i.e. attendance type Y),
- the date they should receive it, and then
- hit save.
If you need to update attendance for multiple days, you will need to repeat the Daily Attendance page workflow for every day that needs updating.
Another workflow that this can help with is deactivating incorrect daily attendance. For example, your school is out on Monday but a scheduled task assigned all students a daily code and you need them deactivated. Simply follow the steps above, but make sure to toggled "Active" to "No" before saving. This will deactivate all the incorrectly assigned codes given to the students in your dynamic group on the date selected in step 3.
