If you're working on the Add Assessment page, there are three ways to add an assessment into Schoolrunner: by importing a spreadsheet, by manually entering responses, or by scanning bubble sheets. Whichever method you choose, get started by navigating to the Add Assessment page from the "Academics" menu by clicking "Assessments" and then using the "Add Assessment" button. (It's also possible, and faster, to add assessments via Gradebook. If you want to import Google Classroom assessments, you must use Gradebook.)
Every assessment requires you to enter a name and an assessment type. Your name will automatically appear in the "Teacher" dropdown menu. Choose the course for which you’re recording the assessment from the "Course" dropdown, and then you’ll see sections mapped to that course automatically populate in the "Sections" menu. If you want, you can deselect certain sections or add others.
Once you’ve filled out the assessment’s basic information, you’re just about ready to enter student data. First, should you choose, you can click on "Additional Options" to configure various aspects of your assessment, include comments, attach relevant documents, and more. It's also possible to curve an assessment.
Importing Student Responses
By downloading and filling in a spreadsheet template, you’re able to drag and drop files directly into Schoolrunner, which then translates the spreadsheet into student results. After setting up your assessment, you can download a template straight from Schoolrunner via the "Import" tab (selected by default) or you can use a file from one of the many assessment tools we integrate with. Learn more about how to import assessments here.
Manually Entering Student Responses
It’s possible to enter student responses for an assessment manually from the "Input" tab. This is straightforward, ideal for short assessments, and very similar to the way that you update or edit student responses. You can also enter student results quickly in Gradebook.
Scanning Student Responses
Schoolrunner has a built-in integration with GradeCam that allows you to define an assessment key, print bubble sheets to administer to your students, and then scan their responses with your webcam or with scanned images. Find out everything about scanning student responses here.
Saving and Analyzing Student Results
Always be sure to save the work that you do in Schoolrunner! Once your assessment has been saved, you’re able to see results displayed in various charts and tables. You’re also able to view a detailed analysis of questions, sections, standards, and more. Learn more about viewing and analyzing individual assessment results.
