You have several options to consider when configuring your slips. Organize behaviors by date or by core value, hide behaviors entirely, show detention summaries, and more.
Check out all of the settings for full details (Setup > Settings > Slips; the "Edit app settings" permission is required). You can find some general guidance below. Test out settings by reloading slips after you make changes.
The settings you define for slips affect what parents and students see on the Slips page in the web portal, and also some things they see in the mobile app "Feed"
Academic Options
(Blue, in screenshot above.) You can choose to show a summary of recent assessments along with course grades with the two academic settings. Note that you can show the assessment summary with or without accompanying course grades, but you cannot show just course grades without the assessment summary.
Behavior Options
(Green, in screenshot above.) Slips are built to show recent behaviors that students have earned, so there isn't a way to remove behaviors entirely. However, there are many options for what to show, including whether merit/demerit balances should be shown, whether they should be broken out by date or core value, and more. Check out the six "Behaviors – " options for full details.
Date and Printing Options
There are three printing settings – "Color", "Format to One Page", and "Signature Line" – and two date settings, which determine which date ranges are selected by default when you look at slips. "Date – Daily" determines whether or not slip data will include today's date by default. You may want this set to "No" if you often print slips when the day's data entry is still going on, and you only want to include info for complete school days (i.e. through yesterday). "Date – Daily" references the start date of your culture week, if this is something other than Monday, that you've configured in Schoolrunner.
Regardless of these settings, you can still manually adjust slip dates and ranges when printing them.
Other Options
In addition to the behavior and academic sections of the slip, which are the primary components, you can also display some smaller tables that summarize attendance, communications, detentions, and even custom student fields. (Yellow, in screenshot above.)
If you've configured dynamic groups to display on slips, a table showing student membership in those groups will also appear on the slip. (Red, in screenshot above.)
