Will all your staff members take attendance? Do you use homerooms or advisories at your school? Is there a custom field for these? When determining how your SIS information is imported into Schoolrunner, be sure to review each option before saving your results.
Note: The relevance of many of these settings depends on which SIS (if any) you use, and how data moves into Schoolrunner. Contact Schoolrunner support with any questions.
Find these settings on the Settings page (Setup>Settings).
-

-
Homerooms – Are your students organized into homerooms? If not, select "No" here.
-
Manual Course Creation – Only use this setting if you plan to create all courses for your school manually in Schoolrunner. If you select No, courses will be pulled from your SIS directly into Schoolrunner without any manual entry.
-
Template School for Attendance – Leave this field blank if you would like each school to have their own attendance fields based on their individual SIS settings. If you would like one school’s codes to be the default for all schools in your system, enter that school here.
-
SIS – Active Status Codes – If your SIS uses any numerical codes to indicate active status, please list those values here.
-
SIS – Student Attribute for Homerooms – If student homeroom/advisory assignments are stored in a custom field in your SIS, specify that field here.
-
SIS – Ignore PowerSchool’s Standard Contact Fields: If your school uses PowerSchool, Schoolrunner will import student contact information stored in the default location. Select Yes here to skip that transfer and specify which custom fields should be used for contact information.
-
Contact Fields: If you ignore PS' standard contact fields (option above), use this option to specify which fields in PowerSchool Schoolrunner should use to pull the relevant data. The first option, "Number of Contact Fields", specifies the number of custom contacts that Schoolrunner will bring in from your SIS (if you have created any). In these fields, naming is very important; see here for more detail.
