Do you refer to students as "scholars"? Do you use a special term for your demerits? All settings under the "Naming Conventions" section the Settings page are optional, but recommended in order to maintain continuity between your school and your Schoolrunner system.
You have the the option to rename the following items:
- Behavior Types – If behaviors like "Uniform Violation" or "Great Question" aren't called "behaviors" at your school, what are they called?
- College – This applies specifically to a display box that shows up on student pages for organizing student attributes.
- Demerit – A demerit is a behavior that has negative points or values associated with it.
- Homeroom – If your school groups kids into "advisories" or "cohorts", use this.
- Merits/Cash – A merit is a behavior that has positive points or values associated with it.
- Merits/Cash Balance – This refers to the sum, or overall balance, of positive behaviors.
- Name Display – First last or last, first.
- Show Middle Names – Can be helpful if your school has several students with matching first and last names.
- Staff – If you school refers to your entire staff as your "Team" or something similar, use this.
- Staff Member – How is an individual staff member at your school referred to?
- State Student Number – Use this if your state has specific terminology you want to use.
- Student – Use this to refer to students as "scholars" or something similar throughout Schoolrunner.
