How do I configure colors on my dashboards?

Visit the Settings page to begin creating your rules and settings for Schoolrunner and open the "Conditional Formatting" section. This determines how various data points are color-coded on your dashboards.

% At or Above Goal

This first option is a curveball since it affects data shown in the pivot table on the Analysis page, not data shown on your dashboards like the rest of the options here. Set up thresholds here and then you'll be able to see how students are performing according to whatever goal you choose (on the "Chart Display" tab) on the Analysis page for course grades, assessment results, or standard results. Set up a pivot table and select the "At or Above Goal" function.

Attendance Percentage

Click on the pencil icon that appears next to your setting for "Attendance %" column and determine what percentage will designate good (green), fair (yellow), bad (red) and missing (stripes). The column to the right represents how this will look on your student and staff dashboards.

 

Cash Average

Next, do the same for "Daily Cash Average" column if this relates to your school’s needs. Select the color from the "Add New Rule" section and enter in the value. Use the green plus sign to add the next rule for your cash settings.

 

Demerits Earned

Use "Demerits Earned This Period" to establish demerit standards for your school.

 

Detentions

The "Detentions" column helps you set goals and standards for detentions at your school. These visual clues help you quickly identify which students have earned more detentions and may require additional behavioral intervention.

       

Failing

The "Failing" column does the same for establishing how many courses a student can be failing at a time:

 

GPA

The "GPA" column gives you a way to quickly identify students whose GPA has fallen below an acceptable level, as shown below:

 

Lunch Detentions

The "Lunch Detention" dashboard column allows you to determine standards for acceptable numbers of lunch detentions, if your school uses them.

 

Most Recent Calls

Using the "Most Recent Calls" column allows you to quickly identify which students are experiencing an increase in calls home.

 

Out of School Suspensions

The "Out of School Suspensions" column shows you the acceptable number of OSS days.

Unexcused Absences

The "Unexcused Absences" column allows you to assign a number value to the amount of acceptable, fair, and unacceptable unexcused absences.

 

Once your dashboard settings have been created, you will be able to view the information most important to you and your teachers on the student and staff dashboards. Here, you can see problem areas quickly, as well as easily reward students that have achieved great attendance, academic, and behavioral goals.
