Student credentials to access Schoolrunner can be generated in two ways: individually or by group. Both methods generate a .pdf file that lists student usernames, passwords, and the address at which the student can log in. Once generated, credentials cannot be reprinted; they can only be overwritten by new credentials (with new passwords). Please save the .pdf documents if you wish to reprint credentials without overwriting passwords. If your students use Google or Clever accounts to log in to Schoolrunner, credentials must be managed in those systems.
By Individual Student
To generate credentials for an individual student, begin typing his or her name into the Quick Search. When the student's full name comes up, click on it to visit his or her student page. Look for the "Portal Access" tab. By clicking the "Download Login Instructions" button, a .pdf tile will be created and downloaded with the student’s new access information. You can additionally include an access code on this .pdf, which will allow parents and guardians to create a Schoolrunner account to stay up-to-date with this student's info. More here.
By Group
The Student/Parent Portal Access page allows you to create access codes for parents/guardians en masse, according to the groups you have set up in Schoolrunner. Find the Student/Parent Portal Access page via the Configure page, under the "People" subsection.
After you select one or more groups from the "Student Group" dropdown, you'll be able to download .pdf files that can be distributed to p/g of the kids in your selected group(s). Pages will be collated by group, then by student name.
If you want to print files for only p/g, make sure the toggles are set to No/No/Yes. You can also include student login instructions for all students (Yes/Yes/Yes) or for only students who don't yet have credentials (No/Yes/Yes). Again, note that it's not possible to reprint student credentials, and regenerating student credentials overwrites existing credentials.
