Generate/Publish Report Cards Before Students Exit
At Schoolrunner, we often get questions about generating report cards for students who are no longer enrolled. This usually occurs when a student leaves one school for another and the new school needs a record of the student's performance.
The Schoolrunner system is only able to generate report cards for students who are actively enrolled in courses. One solution is to re-enroll a student in classes in your SIS, wait for those changes to sync through to Schoolrunner, generate a report card, and then unenroll the student again in your SIS.
However, we recommend always generating report cards for students who are leaving your school before you unenroll them in your SIS. Doing this and keeping the .pdf on file ensures that if you ever do need to send that student's report card to another school, you'll have it ready and won't have to change anything in your SIS.
Or – even better! – is to publish report cards before students leave. Publishing a report card means that the file is stored on the student page, even after s/he is unenrolled, so that you don't have have store it on your own computer or a shared drive where it can get lost.
