Grade point averages (GPA) are designed to look at all of your course grades and represent your overall performance for a specific quarter, semester, or year. Generally, they are an average of points earned in your courses.
GPA calculations vary by school, and sometimes even by course. Keep in mind that your school may have a unique method for calculating GPA, but a conventional GPA scale looks something like this:
- A = 4.0
- B = 3.0
- C = 2.0
- D = 1.0
- F = 0.0
Remember, your school may do things differently. Contact them to learn more about specific calculations that they use.
