The "Class Attendance Filters" section (Analysis > Groups > Class Attendance Filters) allows you to identify students based on their attendance in their classes.
These filters can be particularly useful in conjunction with a scheduled task to set daily attendance, specifically for assigning new or updated daily codes based on the number of class absences a student has.
For example, a group could be made for 3+ class absences, and the scheduled task (Configure > Scheduled Tasks) could apply a daily "Absent" code to these students at the end of the day. Another group could be made for students with 1-2 class absences, and a separate task could apply a daily "Incomplete" code. And students in a group that filters for 0 class absences could receive a "Present" daily code.
- Class Attendance Period – Choose from helpful time periods: today, this week, this month, this quarter, etc.
- Class Attendance Type – Choose a specific attendance type to see any student who has received that code today (or whatever you selected in the filter above). You can look back in time with the "As Of" date menu in the upper right of the Groups page.
- Class Absence Count – Use this slider to filter for students with 10 or more absences for the quarter, for example. (You'll need to combine this with the "Daily Attendance Period" menu above. Slide this to 0 to see students who don't have any absences.
- Consecutive Class Absences Only – Toggle this to "Yes" only if you're interested in identify students who missed consecutive classes according to your bell schedule (with respect to the date in the "As Of" menu, in the upper right of the Groups page).
