If you hover over a student’s detention count on the Detentions page or on the Class Attendance page, you get an explanation of the accounting behind how and when the student earned that number of detentions.
The date menu defaults to today, but you can go back (or forward) in time.
The top number in the accounting area is the number of detention values Aimie is carrying over from the day before. It then lists in chronological order each behavior the student has received and how many detention values each is worth. Behaviors that add to a student’s detention value balance are in red and those that take away from the balance are in green.
The lower portion of this window lists totals for the day. Aimie has earned 0 detentions today and served none. Therefore, her current balance for today is 1 which will carry over into tomorrow.
You can find this window in three places: on the Detention page, by hovering over a student’s number in the "Detentions to Serve" column; on the Class Attendance page, by hovering over a student’s detention number in the white box in the lower left of his/her card; and on the Slips page, if you hover over the detention summary (if you have this configured to display on slips).
Pro Tip: If you hover over one of the behaviors listed on the detention explanation, you can see which staff member recorded that behavior and when, along with any comments.
Pro Tip: On the Detentions page, you can enter in any student name in the "Select a Student" menu. This allows you to look at kids who currently have 0 detention and aren't listed on the roster by default.
