Student homeroom assignments are the driving force behind the student dashboard. To ensure your student dashboard groups students by grade level and homeroom correctly, make sure that your homeroom groups are updated. (Remember, homeroom/advisory groups are not the same thing as homeroom/advisory sections.)
If Schoolrunner syncs directly from your PowerSchool, make sure that student homeroom assignments are updated in PS and the "Homerooms" setting in the "SIS Sync" section on the Settings page is correct (by default, Schoolrunner looks at the home_room field on student records in PS, but if you have homeroom assignments in a custom field, Schoolrunner reference that field instead).
If Schoolrunner syncs from Clever, or you have any other SIS besides PowerSchool, homeroom management is done directly in Schoolrunner. See here for more details on how to ensure homeroom assignments are updated.
