What do I need to know about summer transitions and Clever?

Your data moves from your SIS into Schoolrunner with the help of Clever.

In the summer, Clever stops syncing data in order to prevent summertime SIS changes from affecting your apps (like Schoolrunner) before you're ready.

Unless you take – or have already taken – action, Clever will stop syncing your SIS data two days prior to your final day of this school year, and it won't resume until two weeks before your first day next year.

If these dates don't work for you or aren't correctly aligned to your calendar, you can adjust them in your Clever portal. You can modify the start and end dates for your Clever summertime pause, if you want. Read more on Clever's site.

What does this mean for Schoolrunner?

If your Clever pause is managed well, it won't have any impact on Schoolrunner.

We recommend that you make sure your Clever sync is paused starting on or before the final school day of your current year (Clever's default pause start date works for this), and remain paused until after we take your snapshot (see above).

While your Clever sync is paused, changes made in your SIS will not sync into Schoolrunner, so feel free to prepare as much as you want for the upcoming year! (But be aware that users can still log new data directly in Schoolrunner.)

Resume your Clever sync on the day before you want next year's SIS info to show up in Schoolrunner.
